&lt;mdoxml version=&quot;1.0&quot;&gt;We are developing activities in line with the EYFS $2012$. These activities focus on certain aspects of childrens&amp;#39; learning. They talk about what children enjoy doing and what adults could do to facilitate the learning.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
We are writing about various aspects that encourage good thinking and learning, namely;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;What they, the pupils, notice,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The associated mark making,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Helping the imaginations and conjecturing,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Exploring the different mathematical aspects,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Considering the &quot;undoing&quot; process,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Thinking/saying how we know &quot;it&quot; and why &quot;it&quot; is true.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
We also are writing about &quot;The Mathematical Journey&quot; surrounding the particular activity.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
We are trying to keep the resources to a minimum.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
We are considering other ways of getting into the same mathematics.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
Finally we are suggesting - where appropriate - story, rhyme and song links.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
Early in $2011$ we started some activities that have been trialled and they can be found &lt;a href=&quot;https://nrich.maths.org/earlyyears&quot;&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/br&gt;
These are superceded by the new activities being developed as outlined above.&lt;/mdoxml&gt;</indexXML>
